The Abloy detainer disc cylinder offers the
largest master keying possibilities.
These Abloy cylinders do not suffer from the unreliability often found
in cylinders built with a multitude of springs and pins.

The detainer disk padlocks can be master
keyed into full house systems and are impossible to pick.
The
picking open of padlocks is currently very much a security problem and is
relatively easy with conventional cylinder type locks built with pins and
springs.
The Abloy keys are smaller and do not
have the sharp protuberances often found in cylinder keys of the more
conventional type. They do not house
dust or dirt which eventually
finds its way into the lock body causing broken springs and lock
unreliability.
